Moncrief Community Ministries seeks to impact the East Point, Georgia, community through community care, education, social entrepreneurship, and partnerships. We see ourselves as a “playground” for ministering to those in need while engaging, embracing, and listening to the surrounding community.
Originally the Techwood Baptist Center near downtown Atlanta, the ministry “restarted” a couple years ago in its move to East Point. Since then, the Penguinos After School and Summer Camp program has started, involving over 50 elementary school children. Through a current partnership with Mission Year, six young adults live in the middle of the neighborhood where the children and their families live. This team seeks to understand their community, learn from their neighbors, and build community.
